What is cycle count?
A cycle count is a count of a small set of inventory items, done on a rolling schedule through the year to keep the ERP’s stock numbers accurate. It avoids shutting down the warehouse, and it is the alternative to counting everything at once in a full physical inventory.
Cycle count example
One bin on today’s count list holds 18 units where the ERP shows 24. Before adjusting the record, the warehouse lead checks the item’s recent picks and receipts.
